Something needs to change
A four-week guided experience for experienced teachers who still love teaching, but can't keep giving so much of themselves to it.
9 November to 6 December 2026 | Live online | £59
You know something needs to change.
You just don’t know what.
Perhaps you're exhausted by the way you're currently working. You want more time and energy for the rest of your life, or you're beginning to wonder whether you really want to spend the next five or ten years working in exactly the same way.
The difficult part is that you may still love teaching.
And when you add in your salary, pension, family commitments, school holidays, security and the years you've invested in your career, changing anything can feel complicated.
You don't necessarily want to leave teaching.
You just don't want to keep living like this in order to stay.
This is where “Something Needs to Change” comes in
You don't need to know what you want to do instead. You don't need a plan. You don't even need to know exactly what needs to change yet.
Over four weeks, I'll give you the structure and space to understand what's really going on for you.
We'll look at what's happening across your life, what's affecting your energy, where your time is going and how much control you feel you have over it. You'll explore what you want to be different, what you don't want to lose and why changing anything can feel so complicated.
Because before you can work out where you want to go next, it helps to understand where you actually are now.
How it works
We begin with our first live online session on Sunday the 8th of November at 8pm, before the four weeks officially begin on Monday the 9th of November.
Each Sunday, your materials for the week ahead will be released in the private Facebook group at 7pm, followed by our live group session at 8pm.
We'll meet live on:
Sunday the 8th of November
Sunday the 15th of November
Sunday the 22nd of November
Sunday the 29th of November
Sunday the 6th of December
All sessions begin at 8pm and will be recorded if you can't attend live.
The programme finishes after our final session on Sunday 6 December.

Something Needs to Change is for experienced teachers who still care about teaching, but know they don't want to carry on working in exactly the same way.
You don't need to be ready to leave teaching. You don't need to know what else you could do. And you don't need to arrive with a plan.
You just need to know that something about the way things are now needs to change.
Ready to join?
Something Needs to Change runs from the 8th of November to the 6th of December 2026.
You'll receive the complete four-week experience for £59.
Registration closes at 5pm on Friday 6 November.

The live sessions aren't essential, so don't worry if you can't make every Sunday evening. Everything you need will be available in our private Facebook group, including a guide explaining each week's activity and a recording of the live session. You can work through the activities in your own time and catch up on the sessions when it suits you. If you can join us live, it's a great opportunity to ask questions, reflect on what you've discovered and connect with the other teachers taking part.
-
The activities are designed to fit around a busy teaching week. Some weeks involve a few minutes of noticing and recording each day, followed by around 20 minutes of reflection at the end of the week. Other weeks involve setting aside around 30–60 minutes to work through an activity in one go. You'll also have the optional live group session on Sunday evening.
-
Not at all. This is your experience, and you can share as much or as little as feels right for you. There’ll be opportunities to join in with discussions and reflect alongside the other teachers in the group, but there’s never any pressure to share anything you’d rather keep to yourself.
-
No. This isn't a programme designed to help you leave teaching. It's about understanding what isn't working for you, what matters to you and what you might want to be different.
